32 distracted driving citations issued in La Salle County during enforcement

An Illinois State Police Distracted Driving Enforcement Program led to 32 citations in La Salle County during June.

This program provided extra patrol coverage for Illinois State Police officers to focus on enforcing distracted driving laws.

There were 26 citations issued for hand-held phone/device use and six citations for texting while driving.

In total, there were 59 citations written for all offenses and 33 warnings issued for all offenses.

No DUI citations issued during patrol

A roadside safety check conducted June 25 and June 26 by Illinois State Police in La Salle County garnered no DUI citations. The roadside safety check was conducted at Route 251 at North 25th Road.

There was a citation issued for registration, a citation and six warnings for driver’s license offenses and three citations for insurance violations. In total, 13 warnings were issued to drivers.
