Indian Valley Theatre once again will offer the annual Mimi Bryan Memorial IVT Scholarship in the amount of $250 to an area student.
Special consideration will be given to applicants who have participated in the fine arts area, especially IVT productions, and may be interested in receiving further education in that field.
However, a fine or performance arts major or minor is not required to qualify for the scholarship.
Mimi Bryan was one of IVT’s passionate founding members, dreaming big about live community theater. As a long time educator, Mimi was active on stage, as well as behind the scenes. Most importantly, she was instrumental in giving many budding actors a shot on stage and bringing community theater to life for hundreds of people in the Fox Valley area to enjoy.
In the wonderful spirit of her significant contributions to the Fox Valley Theatre world, IVT is pleased to be able to offer this scholarship again.
A scholarship review committee of the Indian Valley Theatre board of directors will consider all complete applications submitted. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating, college-bound senior from high schools in Sandwich and the surrounding communities.
Because of the present challenging situations for high school seniors, the application deadline has been extended to Aug. 1.
The application must include a short, written personal response to several questions.
A scholarship application is available through the applicant’s local high school guidance counselor or by emailing Sharon Pagoria at press@indianvalleytheatre.com.
Indian Valley Theatre is proud of this prestigious scholarship program honoring one of Fox Valley’s greatest contributors to community theater and the performing arts.
The scholarship will be awarded in early fall.
Anyone interested in making a contribution to the Mimi Bryan Memorial Scholarship with a tax deductible donation can contact Kathie Hart, IVT president, at 815-786-4878.
