Area students graduate

Marquette University

MILWAUKEE — This past spring, Thea Mauck of Spring Valley graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences.

Mauck was one of 2,301 students to graduate from Marquette in May. The university celebrated its 140th commencement with a series of events, including graduate recognition ceremonies at American Family Field and a baccalaureate Mass on campus.

St. Ambrose University

DAVENPORT, Iowa — St. Ambrose University held separate commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate degree recipients at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline on May 14 and 15.

The university conferred 148 graduate and doctoral degrees at the May 14 ceremony. A total of 387 undergraduates earned their bachelor’s degrees at the May 15 ceremony.

Area bachelor’s degree candidates were:

Annawan — Meghan Curran, summa cum laude, elementary education; and Kelli Kluever, cum laude, nursing.

Arlington — Jenna Lusietto, cum laude, nursing.

Dalzell — Kaitlyn Huston, nursing.

Princeton — Gabriella Gerber, biology.

Walnut — Abbey Howes, human performance and fitness.

Northern Illinois University

DEKALB — More than 2,400 students received their degrees from Northern Illinois University in June.

Area students among the graduates were:

Bureau — Emily Wines, Bachelor of Science in Education, SPED-Learning Behavior Specialist I with PEL.

Ohio — Derek Debruhl, Bachelor of Science, Business Administration.

Princeton — Jamie Forbeck, Bachelor of Science, Medical Laboratory Sciences; Jamie Osborn, Bachelor of General Studies, General Emphasis; and Clayton Zelenik, Bachelor of Science, Chemistry-Biochemistry.

Black Hawk College

MOLINE — Black Hawk College awards honors to graduates earning an associate degree who meet certain requirements. Eric Sanders of Princeton graduated magna cum laude.

Magna cum laude graduates must complete 45 hours of graded work at the college with a cumulative 3.85 grade point average.

Bradley University

PEORIA — More than 1,000 students earned degrees in May from Bradley University in Peoria. Area students include:

• Christopher Enriquez of Spring Valley, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.

• Thomas Scholle of Peru, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.

• Jacob Steinberg of Peru, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sports Communication.
