Carroll County sheriff continues search for woman last seen in Shannon

MOUNT CARROLL — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office continues to request the public’s assistance in locating a 37-year-old Wisconsin woman.

Melissa A. Trumpy of Monticello, Wisconsin, was last seen in Shannon shortly before her disappearance, on Tuesday, Oct. 26, the sheriff’s department said in a press release.

“She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black coat, black pants, and shiny boots,” the release said. “We are asking that everyone please check your properties and notify law enforcement if anything suspicious is located. If you have cameras on your property, please review the footage from Oct. 27 and notify law enforcement if anything suspicious is located.”

Two vehicles related to the case, a tan Toyota Tundra extended cab truck and a white Toyota Avalon four door sedan have been located, the release said.

Trumpy is 5′10″, weighs 163 pounds, and has blue eyes and blonde hair.

The investigation is being conducted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Northwest Illinois Critical Incident Response Team, Green County (Wisconsin) Sheriff’s Office, Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office and several other law enforcement agencies and other organizations.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Carroll County Crime Stoppers at 815-244-STOP(7867). Information will remain anonymous and could earn callers a cash reward.= up to $1,000.
