Genoa-Kingston has named Cameron Davekos as its new football coach according to a tweet by the football program Tuesday afternoon.
Athletic director Phil Jerbi nor Davekos could be reached for comment.
Davekos is a graduate of G-K and teaches at Genoa elementary. He was an assistant for the football team under coach Chad Wilmarth, who stepped down last month.
Davekos had also been coaching boys track and field at the school. It was not clear if he would maintain his track duties, although Wilmarth was the head coach for both football and wrestling during his tenure.
Wilmarth went 28-8 in his four seasons at Genoa-Kingston, including 3-0 in the 2021 spring season. He made the playoffs in each of his three full seasons and Genoa has made the playoffs five straight years.
