High school sports roundup for Saturday, Oct. 2

Cary-Grove finished 3-2 and beat St. Charles East, 25-17, 27-25, to win the bronze division of the ASICS Challenge hosted by Mother McAuley in Chicago on Saturday.

The Trojans defeated Crystal Lake Central (25-15, 25-20), Minooka (18-25, 25-23, 27-25) and St. Charles East (25-17, 27-25) and lost to Sandburg (25-15, 25-11) and Burnt Hills New York (24-26, 25-21, 22-25).

Isabelle Strader had 110 assists, Tricia Kennedy had 43 kills and 10 aces, Alexes Koenig had 63 digs, and Mya Bajramovic had 12 blocks.

Huntley finished 2-3 and defeated Marian Catholic (25-18, 21-25, 25-23) and Downers Grove North (28-30, 26-24, 25-23) and lost to Notre Dame (Kent.) (25-19, 25-19), Divine Savior (Wisc.) (17-25, 25-18, 12-25) and Sandburg (17-25, 15-25).

Crystal Lake Central also had two wins and three losses in tournament action. The Tigers defeated Marian Catholic and Henry Clay (Kent.), while losing to Brookfield Central, Mother McAuley and Cary-Grove.
