La Salle County coronavirus update: More than 5% of county’s population has been fully vaccinated

There were 67 more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered Saturday in La Salle County, increasing its total to 20,153 vaccine doses administered total.

There have been 5,697 county residents fully-vaccinated, which is 5.21% of the county’s population.

Two doses three weeks apart are required for a full vaccination. Vaccine administration figures are reported with up to a 72-hour lag.

The La Salle County Health Department was unable to provide updates to COVID-19 numbers Sunday, because of technical difficulties with the state’s reporting system for the majority of the day. The new cases from Sunday will be reported with the new cases on Monday, the health department said.

On Saturday, there were 22 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 people removed from isolation. There have been 10,668 confirmed and probably cases since the beginning of the pandemic, and of those cases, 8,020 have been removed from isolation, as of Saturday.
