Letter: Volunteer to the a Salvation Army Bell Ringer

This year I have noticed a severe shortage of Salvation Army Bell Ringers. Some 82% of all money raised is used year-round by the Salvation Army to provide food for the hungry, disaster relief, assistance for disabled people, outreach to elderly and ill people, shelter and necessities for the homeless and opportunities for under-privileged children.

Bell ringing is a great way to get some fresh air, meet your neighbors and help the local community. Please consider volunteering by going to or by calling 815-455-2769. And when you see me ringing in front of the Crystal Lake Hobby Lobby, please feel free to drop a gold coin or two in my bucket. Thanks!
