Woodland cagers take 3 of 4

Woodland’ seventh- and eighth-grade boys hoops squads swept Cornell in recent action. The Woodland 8s won 46-20 (Connor Dodge 14 points; Nick Plesko nine points, five steals; Connor Decker seven points; Kyle Bliss six points; Theron Essman five points; Zander Radke four points), while the seventh-grade team triumphed 40-29 (Jaren Follmer 14 points, seven rebounds; Nolan Price 13 points, eight steals; Noah Decker nine points; Zane Drysdale four points).

Woodland also split with Marquette. The 8s won 37-35 (Plesko 17 points, seven rebounds, six blocks; Dodge nine points; Decker and Essman five points apiece); while the WJHS 7s fell 31-22 (Follmer eight points, Decker six points).

Waltham wins 2 from Wallace

Waltham’s boys cagers swept a pair of games versus Wallace.

Waltham’s eighth-grade team were the victors in a 28-26 decision, led by Nick Olivero’s 13 points, Mikey Hartman’s 11 points and AJ Senica’s nine rebounds. The 7s triumphed 25-18, paced by Reece Doerr’s 17-point, 13-rebound double-double as well as Regan Doerr’s five points.

Rams teams both finish 6-3

Shepherd’s eighth-grade boys basketballers ended their season with a 48-20 win over Northlawn. Leading the way for the Rams were Tristan Finley with 14 points, Jackson Mangold with seven points, Aric Threadgill with six points, AJ Phalen with five points and Trevor Mortenson and Noah Gross with four points apiece. Prior to that, the Shepherd 8s beat Mendota 45-28, paced by Gross with 14 points, Ben Anderson with seven, Deklan Gage with six points and Jaxon Rix and Mangold both with four.

The 7s also beat Northlawn, 39-24, led by Lucas Farabaugh’s 12 points, Hezekiah Joachim’s eight points, Jaxsen Higgins’ seven points, Colt Bryson’s six points and Archer Cechowicz’s four points. Prior to that, the seventh-grade Rams beat Mendota 37-22 led by Farabaugh with 12 points, Higgins with 11 points and Joachim with five points.
