McHenry County Sheriff Bill Prim announces he won’t seek re-election

McHenry County Sheriff Bill Prim will not seek re-election for a third term, a sheriff’s deputy confirmed Thursday.

“Sheriff Prim is going to finish out his current term and will not be seeking a third term in office,” McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Creighton said in an email Thursday. “Sheriff Prim supports Robb Tadelman to fill his vacancy.”

Tadelman is employed by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office as the deputy chief of patrol, county records show.

Prim was elected sheriff in 2014, replacing now-retired sheriff Keith Nygren, who held the post for 17 years.
