Rabies and microchip clinic for cats planned for May 18

The McHenry County Animal Control and Adoption Center is hosting a low-cost rabies vaccine and microchip clinic later this month.

This drive-thru event being held 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at its facility at 100 N. Virginia St. in Crystal Lake, according to a news release. The clinic is reserved for companion cats, and appointments must be scheduled in advance.

This event is cash only and limited to McHenry County residents, according to the release. All cats attending the clinic must be socialized and arrive in a carrier.

Rabies vaccine is $15 for one year and $30 for three years, according to the release. Registration fees will also apply but vary. Microchips are free with each rabies vaccination, and $5 without the vaccination.

This event is by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling (815) 459-6222.
