The Streator softball team — behind a no-hitter from Leslie Pshak — defeated Kewanee 8-0 in North Central Illinois Conference action. Pshak, who walked three and fanned 12, was added by great defensive plays from center fielder Jennifer Cherveny and second baseman Becky Biroschik. Michelle Hallam and Cherveny each had two hits and an RBI, while Kelly Gallick and Amber Warwick also collected a single.

The Sandwich softball squad rolled past visiting Gardner-South Wilmington, 10-3. Lady Indians’ pitcher Heather Dannewitz earned the complete-game victory allowing just five hits and striking out six, while Kim Flowers (double, RBI) and Tracy Leigh (RBI) each posted a trio of hits.
