Road construction ahead: Yorkville OKs $1.6 million contract to resurface Fox Hill subdivision streets

The Yorkville City Council unanimously approved a $1.6 million contract to resurface the streets in the Fox Hill subdivision on the city’s northwest side during a meeting Tuesday, June 8.

The contract with firm “D” Construction entails resurfacing the entire subdivision along John Street and its connecting roads. The project will begin this month and is expected to last through the end of October, according to city documents.

“We’re getting a lot of roads done this year,” Yorkville Mayor John Purcell said.

Officials said the contract’s bid came in $100,000 less than estimates.

Aldermen also approved a $140,000 an engineering contract for the project with Engineering Enterprises, Inc.
