Scam awareness seminar in Yorkville Nov. 9

A Scam Awareness Seminar is planned from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Beecher Center, 908 Game Farm Road in Yorkville.

This seminar is being hosted by Senior Services Associates, Oswego Senior Center and Kendall County TRIAD.

All area seniors are invited to learn how to keep themselves, loved ones and property safe from scams and fraud. AgeGuide will present Medicare fraud protection. Local police officers will present information on current scams. Allied First Bank will offer tips for avoiding identity theft.

The seminar also will be offered virtually through Zoom. Advance registration is required. Call Senior Services Associates at 630-553-5777 or the Oswego Senior Center at 630-554-5602. In-person attendees are limited to 50 and will receive a free boxed lunch sponsored by Heritage Woods of Yorkville, Heritage Woods of Plainfield and Bardwell Residences of Aurora.
