Scholl Construction moves to new location in Crystal Lake

The former Fantasy Festival shop on Route 14 now is the home of the Scholl Construction Company.

Scholl Construction decided in 2018 it was time to move the office into a new space, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce. A grand opening was planned in 2020 but was put on hold due to the pandemic.

The storefront at 432 W. Virginia St., built in 1936, once housed the old magic and costume shop and was painted purple. Scholl Construction renovated the building, gutting and building new offices and apartments upstairs.

“Our goal was to provide our company with an enhanced space from which to grow, and a better meeting space dedicated to client needs,” Scholl Construction owner Peter Scholl said in a statement. “In our quest to modernize the space we also wanted to retain the historic look and feel, so we preserved features such as the vintage exposed brick and wood.”

Scholl said acquiring a centrally located office space was “an exciting step” for the business.
