Upcoming events announced at Bureau County Fairgrounds

There is something going on every weekend in November at Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton.

The huge winter garage sale will return at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13. There will be free admission, but participants are asked to bring a donation of canned or non-perishable food for the local food pantry.

Walneck’s Motorcycle Swap meet will return on Sunday, Nov. 14, with all kinds of motorcycle parts and accessories for sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The annual meeting of the life member of Bureau County Fair will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15.

The 13th annual Model Train Fair and Farm Toy Show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20. All three exhibit halls will be full of farm toys of all types, die cast cars and collectibles, model railroad engines, cars and accessories and memorabilia. There will be three large working train layouts for kids of all ages to enjoy. Admission is $4 for adults. Kids 10 and under are free.

The Sauk Trail Gun Collectors show will finish out the month with their show on Saturday, Nov. 27, and Sunday, Nov. 28.

In December there will be a fun event for the kids at the fairgrounds following the Christmas parade. Bring them out for games and treats at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4. That night the Home for the Holidays lighted drive-thru display opens at 5 p.m. The drive-thru will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through New Year’s from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Home for the Holidays Christmas craft and vendor show will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in the heated exhibit halls. Selling spaces are being reserved now.
