St. Charles city buildings reopen, in-person meetings to resume

ST. CHARLES – The city of St. Charles is reopening city buildings and resuming in-person meetings, after Region 8, which includes Kane and DuPage counties, is now in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan.

According to a news release from the city, in-person public meetings will resume at the Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St. Visitors must wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

The city will continue to make video teleconferencing an option. For more information, visit www.stcharlesil.gov/meetings and click on the meeting you are interested in attending.

City buildings are open to residents Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. When at a city building, visitors must follow these health and safety requirements:

Meetings with city staff are encouraged to be conducted remotely by phone or video conference when possible. In-person meetings are by appointment only and masks are required.

Non-essential police services are resuming with restrictions, including fingerprinting for licensing and city-related requirements only, issuing solicitor permits with safety plans submitted by the applicants and prescription drug disposal.

Other non-essential services, including Municipal Building room reservations, police station meeting room reservations, child safety seat checks, the police ride-along program, police station tours and the Citizen’s Police Academy, are still suspended.
