SYCAMORE – A months-long road work project along Plank Road between Lindgren Road and East County Line Road is slated to begin this week.
Safety improvements including a 4-foot hot-mix asphalt shoulder widening and installation of rumble strips will be added to Plank Road between this week and Oct. 18, according to a DeKalb County news release.
The $1.7 million project also will include an overlay of the entire roadway, among other work. Flagmen will provide temporary traffic control while one lane is closed at a time.
Loves Park based William Charles Construction Co. was awarded the $1,758,430 project.
Another large-scale June road project will add more lanes to Peace Road at Route 64. One side of the road will be closed at a time, causing delays in traffic.
Construction for the $2.1 million project will run from the end of June until late October.
