As hot spots smolder, Sycamore looks to recovery efforts for St. Albans fire victims

SYCAMORE – What remains of Building A of the St. Albans Green apartment complex continues to smolder almost 48 hours after the blaze began, and residents and community members are banding together to bring relief efforts to those who lost everything.

Monique Howery, 36, who owns and operates Moni’s Soul Food Fiesta, 850 Pappas Drive in DeKalb, is offering free meals through 5 p.m. Monday for the St. Albans fire victims. Among them are her business partners, Earnell Brown and his wife, who lived in a second-floor unit.
