Batavia United Way collecting cards to show some love to seniors this Valentine’s Day

The Batavia United Way is asking community members to create handmade Valentines cards for senior citizens in assisted living, rehabilitation and long-term care facilities in Batavia.

Homemade cards will be collected through Feb. 9 in a drop box located at the city of Batavia building, 100 N. Island Ave., according to a news release.

Local senior citizens are important to the community and have been impacted significantly by safety restrictions over the course of the pandemic. This is a way to brighten their day in a safe and responsible way, the release stated.

For more information, contact Kari Edwards with the Batavia United Way by phone or text at 630-550-8854.
