DeKALB – Chance the Rapper made a surprise visit to Northern Illinois University Wednesday and popped into the women’s volleyball practice at the Convocation Center. According to the NIU women’s volleyball Twitter page, the three-time Grammy winner was in town Wednesday using the Convocation Center to rehearse for an upcoming gig in Chicago.
The photos and information were also shared on NIU’s official Instagram page.
Chance stopped for some high-fives and to pose for some pictures with the team, whose members seemed thrilled by the celebrity encounter, calling it “the best day ever” in the post. NIU Huskie Athletics did not make players available for comment about Chance’s visit after practice Thursday.
Huskie Athletic Communications said that Chance the Rapper’s appearance was not supposed to be public.
