FULTON – A 77-year-old bicyclist from Clinton, Iowa was hit and killed Wednesday on state Route 78/Waller Road, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Friday.
John W. Forrest was southbound on 78, north of Spring Valley Road, around 3:15 p.m. when he was struck by a southbound car driven by Cycle J. Roos, 35, of Long Grove, Iowa, the release said.
Forrest was pronounced dead at Mercy One Hospital in Clinton.
The crash is under investigation.
