DeKalb County Board Chairman Mark Pietrowski and DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office will hold a training seminar for all local governments on the Freedom of Information Act and the Open Meetings Act. The seminar also is open to the public.
The seminar will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau at 1350 W. Prairie Drive, Sycamore.
On hand will be members of the Illinois Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor’s Office.
It is the second consecutive year that staff will be in DeKalb for the seminar.
This is a great opportunity for the county, cities, towns, townships and others to learn about application of the acts directly from the public access counselor’s staff, who are entrusted with their enforcement,” according to a news release. “It will also offer a question and answer period so that government officials can inquire as to correct practices.”
