OREGON – The Oregon Knights of Columbus Council 1092 and the Catholic Daughters of America 1337 will be hosting a Community Blood Drive from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Community Center in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 881 Mongan Drive.
The blood drive will be running in conjunction with the St. Mary’s Lenten Fish Fry, which will start at 5 p.m. Anyone who donates or attempts to donate to the blood drive will receive a coupon of $2 off dinner at any St. Mary’s Fish Fry this year.
Eligible blood donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health and either be at least age 17, or age 16 with parental consent.
Donations go to Rock River Valley Blood Center, which is the sole provider of blood and related services to several medical centers, trauma centers and hospitals in the region.
The Rock River Valley Blood Center needs to collect 1,000 units each week to meet area patients needs.
