MALTA – DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident Thursday afternoon that sent the driver to the hospital.
Jadin E. Merson, 20, of Rochelle, was headed west on Twombly Road when she went off the right shoulder east of Schafer Road about one mile north of Malta, said DeKalb County Chief Deputy Andy Sullivan.
“She lost control and left the roadway, then rolled over in the ditch,” he said.
Malta emergency medical services took Merson to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Merson was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Sullivan said Merson was driving too fast on the gravel. He said the speed limit in that area is 55 mph.
