Crystal Lake Rotary chapter donates more than $10,000 leading up to Thanksgiving

Rotary Club of Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers donated more than $10,000 to local charities in the 30 days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Recipients included Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association, NDJ Foundation, Veterans Path to Hope and ENCORE Music Academy, according to a news release

Three charities identified by club members as the Core Charities for 2021 each received a check for $3,000 at a breakfast meeting on Nov. 17.

NISRA provides special recreation services to individuals for year-round activities as well as Special Olympics training. NDJ Foundation provides support programs for girls which include building confidence and self-esteem. Veterans Path to Hope provides comprehensive support to veterans for housing, employment, transitional living and other programs. ENCORE Music Academy received a check for $1,100 for air filter systems in their new location on Williams Street in downtown Crystal Lake.
