DeKalb County Community Foundation accepting grant requests online

SYCAMORE – Nonprofit and community organizations can submit grant requests for programs and projects impacting youth throughout DeKalb County. Youth Engaged in Philanthropy grants are meant to improve the quality of life for youth in DeKalb County.

Projects considered for funding must directly involve youth, promote youth empowerment and leadership, and be dedicated to the nearby community.

Last year, a $1,250 YEP grant helped provide tools and materials to DeKalb County Community Gardens for the summer camp program at Walnut Grove Vocational Farm in Kirkland, where campers learned about horticulture, the news release states.

The grant request deadline is Feb. 1. The requests must be made online at the DeKalb County Community Foundation website: dekalbccf.org/yepgrants. No hard-copy applications will be accepted, according to a news release.

YEP is a youth-led high school committee from the DeKalb County Community Foundation that provides opportunities for youth across DeKalb County to develop leadership skills, learn about philanthropy and become engaged in their communities.

Call YEP staff adviser Noah Nordbrock at 815-748-5383 or at his email: noah@dekalbccf.org for questions.
