DeKalb Education Foundation asks for Legacy Library donations for endowment

DeKALB – If you’re a passionate reader and want to ensure others have the opportunity to pass that passion onto others, the DeKalb Education Foundation invites you to make a donation for their Legacy Library.

The Legacy Library will be installed on the retaining walls outside DeKalb High School, and include stones shaped like books to recognize those who donate to their organization, which helps provide enrichment materials and experience to DeKalb students outside the classroom.

The DeKalb Education Foundation has been around since 1987, according to a news release, and has funded over $500,000 in grants for thousands of kids in all twelve District 428 schools.

The foundation funds teacher grants, up to $30,000 per school year, through donations and endowments, and is seeking help for their 2020 endowment fund campaign.

If you choose to donate, the foundation will acknowledge your tax deductible contribution with a “book” in the Legacy Library, to be installed in the spring of 2020.
