DeKalb's fall leaf collection is over for 2019

DeKALB – The City of DeKalb is now finished with fall leaf collection for 2019, according to a news release from the Public Works Department.

The second and final cycle of leaf collection was completed Monday, though crews will continue to clean up through the rest of the week, the release shows. Clean-up will include collecting leaf piles that have been previously blocked by parked cars, or which couldn’t be picked up for other reasons, weather permitting, the release states.

Residents are reminded to avoid parking in front of leaf piles so they can be picked up through the rest of the week.

Leaves that were not raked and placed by a curb by 7 a.m. Monday were likely not collected in the final cycle, the release shows.

Any leaves left at a curb after this week should be moved onto the parkway to avoid flooding roadways.
