First completed section of Shabbona Pathway celebrated ribbon cutting

SHABBONA – A ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the first section of the Shabbona Pathway was held Sept. 26.

The newly completed section of the pathway provides a safe path for students to walk between Indian Creek Elementary School and Indian Creek High School.

Leading the ribbon cutting was Illinois State Representative Tom Demmer and Indian Creek Board of Education Vice President Josh Merchant.

Others in attendance included DeKalb County Forest Preserve Natural Resource Manager Josh Clark, Shabbona Village President Don Goncher, Village Board Trustee and Pathway Vice President Marc Cinnamon, Shabbona Township Supervisor and Pathway Treasurer James Johnson, Trevor Davis with the Shabbona Fire District and Pathway President Dan Nolan.
