A Geneva man has been charged with the attempted murder of an adult family member.
Bobby J. Haven III, 26, of the 1000 block of Westfield Course, was arrested Saturday and charged with attempted murder and two counts of aggravated domestic battery, all felonies. He is in custody at the Kane County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
At 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, Geneva Police responded to a home regarding a domestic disturbance called in by another family member, according to a news release. Upon arrival, officers observed Haven holding an unconscious man from behind while seated in a reclining chair, the release stated.
The man was immediately taken by ambulance to Northwestern Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he remains in critical condition. Initial interviews led to the belief the man suffered from an unknown medical issue.
Haven voluntarily responded to the Geneva Police Department at 7:40 a.m. Saturday when he admitted to allegedly being involved in a physical altercation with the family member, according to the release.
His next court day is set for Dec. 29 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
