GENOA – The Genoa Park District is hosting a community meeting to get feedback on a grant the district plans to apply for with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Genoa Park District building, 400 E. Second St., Genoa.
The grant, which is from the Parks and Recreational Construction Act, would fund up to $2.5 million toward the construction of a new recreation center for the district, according to a district news release.
The grant is a 75% to 25% matching grant, which means the district would have to fund a minimum of 25% of the construction project.
District staff, consultants and an architect will be at the meeting to present the building’s concept plan and answer any questions.
