With the shopping season in full swing, now is the time many of us ask, “What do you buy the person who has everything?” Consider making a donation to Pay-It-Forward House in honor or memory of loved ones.
The mission of Pay-It-Forward House is to provide a supportive and caring home away from home for family and friends of patients receiving medical treatment in DeKalb County. Many of these patients have lengthy hospital stays for serious medical conditions. Pay-It-Forward-House provides them with the comfort of knowing that their loved one is close by, which eases an incredible burden and stress upon all involved.
The impact Pay-It-Forward House has on its guests is far-reaching. A guest recently shared these words of gratitude:
“I left my four kids, husband, job and nursing school to be with my sister. She has four children also and needed me to help her get better, which brings me to Pay-It-Forward House. These people are absolutely amazing and were sent from God himself. They are angels and the most sweet people I have ever met in my life. Thank you for your kindness, thank you for your encouragement, support, and a wonderful place to escape to after a long day. Thank you.”
Pay-It-Forward House is running an Adopt-A-Day program in 2020. A donation of $100 a day provides financial support to the Pay-It-Forward House and provides guests with a place to call home during difficult and uncertain times.
The program allows donors to designate the specific date(s) they would like to adopt, as well as naming the individual(s) they would like to have remembered or honored on that day. Upon receipt of the donation, a letter will be sent to the donor for tax purposes and a letter will be sent to each honoree on their special day as a thank-you for being a special person to Pay-It-Forward House.
Honorees also will be recognized on the Adopt-A-Day calendars displayed at both Pay-It-Forward House and Kindred Hospital – Sycamore.
