High school sports roundup for Friday, Feb. 11

Woodstock North’s boys basketball team wrapped up the Kishwaukee River Conference championship outright with a 65-43 win against Harvard on Friday in Harvard.

Christian Soto-Garcia led the Thunder (14-10, 8-0) with 12 points, followed by Justin VanAcker with eight and Gabe Filetti with seven.

Richmond-Burton 68, Woodstock 50: At Woodstock, Connor Wallace led all scorers with 22 points, and Joe Miller added 18 for the Rockets in a KRC win.

Huntley 62, Crystal Lake Central 30: At Huntley, Nate Ary scored 13 and John Kramer added 10 as the Red Raiders (25-4, 14-2) clinched second place in the FVC outright with a victory over the Tigers

Huntley also moved two wins from matching the school record and is two behind Burlington Central in the FVC with two remaining games.

Westminster Christian 54, Alden-Hebron 49: At Schaumburg, the Giants were handed a conference tournament loss in a close one.

Thomas Webber scored 19 points for A-H, Justin Gritmacker added 18, and Tyler Cunningham chipped in 11.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Woodstock North 58, Harvard 19: At Woodstock, the Thunder claimed their first KRC title outright with a victory over the Hornets. North (19-7, 9-1) shared the KRC title with Marengo in 2020.

North, which has won 10 straight, made 11 3s and led 26-2 after the first quarter. Lacey Schaffter had 15 points, Sophia Fabian had 13 points and Gracie Zankle tossed in eight.

Cary-Grove 36, Prairie Ridge 19: At Cary, the Trojans held the visiting Wolves to 19 points in an FVC win.

Annika Nordin led C-G with 12 points and Maddie Scharrenberg scored 11. Kelly Gende led Prairie Ridge with seven points.

Dundee-Crown 41, McHenry 34: At McHenry, the Chargers earned a road win over the Warriors in FVC action.
