DeKALB – If you owe money to the City of DeKalb, you could soon be contacted by a collections agency for unpaid parking tickets, ordinance violations, ambulance bills or other debt.
Since the city approved an agreement with Municipal Collections of America in February, city and collections agency staff have compiled reports on who owes what, according to a news release. and the first batch of debts was sent to the agency for collection.
Debts include unpaid parking tickets, ordinance violations, ambulance bills and others.
If you are contacted by the agency, the city will no longer accept payment, and any payment made towards the debt must be sent to the Municipal Collections of America, according to the release.
