Illinois announces 2,341 more COVID-19 cases, 46 deaths

Illinois has 2,341 more COVID-19 confirmed cases and announced an additional 46 deaths on Monday.

The state conducted 13,834 tests in the previous 24 hours, of which 17% came back positive.

The state has now seen 63,840 total cases of the virus and 2,662 people have died. Now 333,147 people in Illinois have been tested.

As of late Sunday night, Illinois had 4,493 COVID-19 patients in the hospital, marking the fifth consecutive day with decreased COVID-19 hospitalizations. Of those, 1,232 are in the ICU and 763 are on ventilators. The state has 10,974 open hospital beds.

As of Monday, Chicago has seen 25,805 confirmed cases of COVID-19, while the rest of Cook County has seen 17,910.

Lake County has seen 4,252 confirmed cases, DuPage 3,803, Will 3,066, Kane 2,115, McHenry 790, Kendall 326, DeKalb 134, Ogle 132, Whiteside 92, La Salle 70, Grundy 46, Lee 25, Bureau 12 and Carroll 10.

New deaths include:

Cook County: 1 female 20s, 1 female 30s, 1 female 40s, 1 male 50s, 2 females 60s, 1 male 60s, 2 females 70s, 3 males 70s, 6 females 80s, 1 male 80s, 1 female 90s, 1 male 90s

DuPage County: 1 male 70s, 1 female 80s, 1 male 90s

Iroquois County: 1 female 60s

Lake County: 1 male 50s, 1 female 70s, 3 males 70s, 2 females 80s, 1 male 80s

Macon County: 1 male 70s

Madison County: 1 female 60s, 1 male 90s

Monroe County: 1 male 70s

Sangamon County: 1 female 100+

St. Clair County: 1 female 80s

Will County: 1 female 30s, 1 male 50s, 3 females 70s, 1 male 80s

Winnebago County: 1 male 50s
