The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Illinois has almost doubled in one day.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, 128 new cases were announced in Illinois today, almost 50% more than Tuesday when there were 160.
This brings the total number of cases to 288, reported in ages 9 to 91, in 17 counties (the first cases in Kendall and Madison counties).
That includes an additional 20 cases at long term care facility in DuPage, bringing the total to 42, including 30 residents and 12 staff members.
This is a developing story.
