The Illinois Department of Public Health on Wednesday announced 546 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 87 additional confirmed deaths.
IDPH reported on Wednesday a total of 134,185 cases, including 6,485 deaths statewide. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. The recovery rate remains 93% in Illinois.
Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 29,987 testing specimens for a total of 1,258,328.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate from June 10-16 is 3%.
Statewide, 1,878 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, including 563 people in the ICU and 331 people are on ventilators.
Regional Update: Illinois is on track for Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Health Plan, according to data compiled by the IDPH. The Northeast Region reported a 6% positivity rate and saw a 85% decrease in hospital admissions in the last 28 days. The region has 34% medical/surgical bed availability, 42% ICU bed availability, and 72% ventilator availability.
The North Central region reported a 4% positivity rate and saw a 56% decrease in hospital admissions in the last 28 days. The region has 48% medical/surgical bed availability, 54% ICU bed availability, and 74% ventilator availability.
