The Illinois Department of Public Health on Wednesday announced 715 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 64 additional deaths.
Illinois has a total of 138,540 cases and 6,770 deaths.
In the past 24 hours, 29,331 tests were completed for a total of 1,428,841 statewide.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate has gone up to 3%, but the daily positive rate dropped compared to the past 24 hours, going down to 2.43%.
The Northeast region on Wednesday reported a 5% positivity rate. Hospital admissions in the region have decreased by 85%.The region reported a 33% medical/surgical bed availability, 42% ICU bed availability, and 74% ventilator availability.
The North Central region reported a 3% positivity rate. The region saw a 77% decrease in hospital admissions. The region reported a 47% medical/surgical bed availability, 58% ICU bed availability, and 78% ventilator availability.
