Jewelry and money were stolen at 12:20 p.m. Dec. 9 from a residence in the 200 block of South Adams Street in Oswego
In a statement, village police said the 89 year-old victim told officers that a man who falsely claimed to be with the water department asked to enter the victim’s residence to check her water.
The victim later discovered jewelry and money had been taken from the residence.
The incident was reported to police Dec. 11.
