Letter: Incorrect decision cleverly disguised as good

Gov. (JB) Pritzker has ended the requirement that doctors notify the parent of a minor seeking an abortion. As a retired health-care professional, I couldn’t even give a child a Tylenol without parental permission. His justification is that vulnerable minors were punished by the law. Sad that the governor did not realize there were already exceptions for victims of abuse by adult family members. Often times incorrect decisions are cleverly disguised as good, as I believe the governor tried to do in this case. This precious parental protection the governor has stripped away will cause much harm.
