Morris boys game at Streator postponed due to possible COVID exposure

MORRIS — Morris’ boys basketball game scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Streator has been postponed due to a possible COVID-19 exposure during Friday night’s home game against Dwight.

Morris athletic director Jeff Johnson said that the sophomore game, which was scheduled for 2 p.m., will be played, but that the varsity game would be postponed. Johnson added that the Redskin varsity games for the upcoming week – Tuesday at LaSalle-Peru, Friday at home against Kaneland and Saturday at home against Sandwich – will also be postponed.

“I will talk to the athletic directors and see what we can work out as far as getting those games rescheduled and we will release the rescheduled dates when we have them confirmed,” Johnson said.

Johnson also said that the postponements will not affect the girls basketball or any other teams’ schedules at this time. The girls basketball game scheduled at home Saturday night at 7 against Ottawa Marquette is still on, with the same spectator restrictions as always.
