Morris Theater Guild announces cast for latest production

MORRIS – Even recent blizzards have not stopped the Morris Theater Guild’s cast from rehearsing for its production of “Momologues 2: Off to School.”

“Momologues 2: Off to School” was written by Lisa Rafferty, Stefanie Cloutier, Sheila Eppolito and Charlotte Dietz. The show will be presented at Morris Theatre Guild Playhouse from March 5 to 14, with live performances at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinees. Tickets are available at morristheatreguild.org for $15 and must be purchased ahead of the performance online or by calling 815-942-1966.

The plan for live performances, approved by the Grundy County Health Department, includes limited and distanced seating, with masks required. A request also has been made for virtual performances on March 13 and 14, and announcements will be made when tickets for these virtual performances can be purchased online as well.

The cast includes Stephanie Griffin of Watseka as Lea, Holly Kilgore-Hogg of Channahon as Caroline, Tamara Malebranche of Joliet as Tricia and Karly Swords of Ottawa as Lynnette. This wonderful tribute to moms is directed by Judy Miller of Morris and produced by Sharon Pagoria of Sandwich, with Jen Ketchum of Sandwich as stage manager.

This frank and funny look at the true tales of motherhood shows four young moms in a round robin of stories and scenes echoing lines every mom will recognize, from playdates gone wrong to tips on how to stalk a babysitter. This show is a delight for everyone who is a mom, has a mom or knows a mom.
