A motorist suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash into a utility pole around 4 p.m. during Saturday’s snowstorm at the intersection of Illinois Route 14 and Doty Road, the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District said.
Woodstock police responded to the incident and advised firefighters the driver was entrapped and unconscious in the vehicle, a release from the fire district said.
Firefighters arrived shortly thereafter, and removed the driver through the front passenger door. The motorist was taken to Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital, which sits just west of the intersection.
No road closures resulted from the incident, the fire district said.
Woodstock police are investigating the crash, the fire district said.
Police did not immediately return inquiries Sunday into the condition of the driver, whether the snowy weather was a factor in the crash nor the driver’s gender.
