No injuries after fire fully engulfs pickup truck on Route 14 in Woodstock

Flames fully engulfed a pickup truck around 8 p.m. Saturday on Route 14 between Kishwaukee Valley Road and the South Street overpass in Woodstock, a news release said.

The driver of the vehicle was its sole occupant and was uninjured by the incident, the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District said in the release.

Firefighters extinguished the vehicle fire within minutes of arrival, the release said.

The fire is believed to have started in the truck’s engine compartment and the cause is thought to be mechanical, the release said.

Route 14 was closed in both directions for approximately 40 minutes while emergency responders were on scene, the release said.
