Photos: Big Boy steam engine roars through DeKalb

Big Boy No. 4014, Union Pacific’s giant steam engine, paid a brief visit to DeKalb as it sped past hundreds of curious spectators to it’s next stop in Rochelle. Big Boy, built in the 1940s, is one of the world’s biggest steam-powered locomotives and is currently touring the country to commemorate the transcontinental railroad’s 150th anniversary.
