DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library will host three virtual programs via Zoom meetings.
The DeKalb Public Library and the Discovery Center Museum will host a virtual science show about liquid nitrogen via Zoom at 1 p.m. June 18. Attendees will be muted but are welcome to engage with the presenters by asking questions and making comments using the chat function on Zoom.

High school students and their families can learn how to virtual visit a college campus with Tom Jaworski, founder of Quest College Consulting. Jaworski will identify resources that will assist families in their virtual interactions with colleges and universities.
These strategies will guide prospective students in communicating with colleges of their choice. The program will be held 2 p.m. June 19. This program is limited to the first 20 families.

A virtual presentation about The Beach Boys from 1962 to 1967 will be held 2 p.m. June 20.
The presentation will be led by Gary Wenstrup, an adjunct professor at the College of DuPage/CE teaching a number of pop music history classes.
With the use of performance and interview clips, the presentation will include The Beach Boys’ early career from “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “California Girls” to “Good Vibrations” and the abandoned Smile project. Although the audience will be muted, attendees will be able to type questions and engage with the presenter.

After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Zoom meeting, a phone number to call into the Zoom meeting and a meeting password. Join the Zoom meeting five minutes before the program, especially if Zoom before hasn’t been used before.
