RAMP offers parent advocacy training workshops

RAMP is offering advocacy training workshops for parents struggling with getting the educational services they need to succeed.

Trainings equip parents with the knowledge and resources to help them help their children.

Three workshops will be offered at the DeKalb office, 115 N. First St.

Trainings cost $10 each and seats can be reserved online at https://tinyurl.com/parenttrainings.

The upcoming workshops are:

• Special Education & Disability Services 101, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21. Topics include special education definition, law, services and school evaluation.

• Special Education & Disability Services 201, 5 to 8 p.m. March 10. Topics include school evaluation meaning and preparing for the IEP/504 meeting.

• Special Education & Disability Services 301, 1 to 4 p.m. March 24. Topics include goals, accommodations and least restrictive environment/inclusion.
