DeKALB – Residents should be reminded that trash pickup with be delayed this week and next due to the holidays.
Lakeshore Recycling Systems refuse collection will be delayed one day during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day, according to a news release from the City of DeKalb.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday collections with instead take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday both weeks.
Lakeshore will also conduct their annual Christmas tree collection for the first two weeks of January, the release shows.
Flocked trees, trees with shiners, tinsel, light bulbs, glitter, wire or plastic, or in plastic bags will not be collected, the release shows.
Live and artificial trees ready for recycling should be completely free of light bulbs also.
