St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richmond collected almost 100 games and more than 10 gift cards as gifts for children in need this past holiday season.
The drive was hosted in partnership with Catholic Charities, parish administrator Edward Varga said, adding that for “being a small parish, we have big hearts.”
The church’s Knights of Columbus Council 8366 also held its first Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest, the winner of which was 14-year-old Peter Soule.
He received his prize Dec. 5 at a pancake breakfast supporting the Richmond-Spring Grove Food Pantry.
